Abstract
El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el problema que John R. Searle propone en el tercer capítulo de su obra Rationality in Action (2003) sobre la brecha o distancia (gap en inglés) que media entre una decisión y una acción, y que pretende solucionar a través del concepto del yo (Self en inglés). Consideremos que esta explicación es insuficiente en algunos aspectos e introducimos la sindéresis como línea argumentativa para defender la existencia de decisiones no continguentes pero libres desde una perspectiva tomista, en contraste a la propuesta de la brecha y el yo-no humeano.STOA is a biannual publication edited by the Institute of Philosophy of the Universidad Veracruzana, Tuxpan, No. 29, Frac.
