Stoa is an open access academic journal edited by the Instituto de Filosofía of the Universidad Veracruzana. It is a peer-reviewed and indexed publication, dedicated to the research and dissemination of philosophical thought, committed to the highest academic standards at national and international levels.
Stoa (in Greek στοά) a porticoed space that served to protect against the sun and rain and that was always linked to the agora and sanctuaries. As a public space it served to gather to dialogue, establish relationships and exchange goods.
This journal of the Instituto de Filosofía of the Universidad Veracruzana aims to serve as a forum for dialogue and discussion among specialists and academics from philosophy or other fields of knowledge who bring their concerns close to the philosophical question. Likewise, Stoa is a journal committed to Spanish, which is why it makes a decisive commitment to it as a language of philosophical dialogue.
Stoa is published semiannually in February and August, accepting contributions from all over the world but with special reference to Ibero-America. Its interests embrace questions of philosophy in general with a breadth of content and perspectives but with rigor in its treatment.
