Abstract
This article will highlight the problematic nature of psychology as a bodyof knowledge with aspirations to define its field of research and become a science. A general overview of its diversity will be shown in light of its different paradigms of formulation of objects of knowledge and it will be shown how, from the ontological and epistemological commitment that each one of them acquires, a number of propo-sals regarding the nature of the psychological fact, the method of psychology and the criteria of evidence of psychological explanation. Eight paradigms of formulation of objects of knowledge of psychology will be presented and some examples of currentsor schools that fit with each of them will be given.
