Nihilism as a fungal pathogen: Symptoms of the stationary society

Abstract

In this paper we aim to elaborate a presentation of nihilism as a fungal pathogen. A pathogen that, together with a series of blind forces germinated by virtue of its action, would be behind the ontological crisis that is plaguing the West. We will also try to explain the main consequences of this ontological crisis, both at the individual and collective level. Finally, and given that it is the cause of multiple pathologies of civilisation, we will answer the question of whether we could hope for something like an antidote to combat it. All this will be approached from the philosophical perspective of Nietzsche and Heidegger, as well as, and especially, from the philosophy deployed by Luis Sáez Rueda.
