Sword of light. Philosophical approach to the non-conceptual thinking of poetry

Abstract

: In this article we defend the existence of a poet’s philosophy, that is, of a properly poetic thought. Scientist positivism denies that the poetry is a status of true knowledge. The Enlightenment and Romantic perspectives save it, but the former understands philosophy and poetry as opposed and complementary, while the latter puts an end to the confrontation between the two and considers poetry as a true declaration of truth. The properly poetic rationality that we develop in this article has eight basic features organized around two main ones. The first, which is the fundamental attribute of poetic thinking, understands poetry as a sword of lightning, impossible to grasp by the philosophical concept. The second affirms that the poet’s philosophy consists in attending to the things of the vital world in order to think them in their heterogeneity.
